Description

The JBL ProAqua Test O2 is a water test for analyzing the current oxygen content in freshwater and seawater aquariums, as well as in ponds.

Water is not simply water. Already the rainwater absorbs pollutants and once seeped in the groundwater, it is enriched with other substances that are not all aquarium appropriate. The constant monitoring of the water values in the aquarium, especially with new equipment, is the top priority for a successful aquarium. With the ProAqua test, JBL offers the possibility to quickly and precisely determine the most important water values in the home laboratory. Thanks to the enclosed very detailed instructions for use with tips and advice, water testing becomes child's play. The delivery includes all required materials such as test reagents, dosing syringe, cuvettes, measuring spoons and colour charts. The test reagents can be purchased separately.

All aquatic animals need oxygen for breathing. Even the "invisible helpers" in aquarium and pond, the purification bacteria, are dependent on a sufficient oxygen content for the conversion of ammonium to nitrate. The necessary oxygen supply can be ensured by sufficient planting. In aquariums and ponds with little or no vegetation, as well as in marine aquariums, the oxygen content should always be maintained at the appropriate saturation level by technical means. The saturation value depends on water temperature. Plants are able to exceed this saturation value through assimilation activity. For example, in well-planted aquaria and ponds towards the end of the illumination period, values are found which are 1-2 mg / l above the saturation value.

Our expert Oliver Knott recommends:
The oxygen content in the water is not always sufficient - a regular check provides certainty!
