The original form of many variants is the broad-leaved spear blade Anubias barteri var. 'Barteri' from the jungle streams of Africa. The firm, dark green leaves of this slow-growing, robust and rather undemanding aquarium plant are not eagerly nibbled by herbivorous fish. This Anubias doesn't need a lot of light.

The propagation of the plant is as easy as the care: cut off a piece with 2 leaves and tie it up. You can also buy this plant as an XL specimen. This large mother plant is a particularly impressive example of Anubias barteri var. 'Barteri'.
