The Tetra Active Substrate is a natural substrate for magnificent and healthy plant growth in freshwater aquariums.

Healthy and magnificent plant growth depends on three key factors: in addition to a source of carbon for their photosynthesis and optimal lighting, plants need nutrient-rich soil. This allows a fast and safe rooting of newly inserted plants and provides them with all the necessary nutrients and minerals in the best possible way. A healthy and lush plant growth, especially in a newly established aquarium, limits the nutrient supply for algae so that they are inhibited in their growth from the beginning. A healthy and vigorous plant growth, however, also affects the vitality of your fish: these plants serve as a hiding place and retreat. In addition, they produce vital oxygen in the aquarium and thus contribute significantly to the well-being of your fish! Healthy plants reduce algae nutrients and pathogens and absorb pollutants.

The Tetra Active Substrate is a natural substrate for a plant-friendly soil climate and beautiful, healthy plant growth. The large surface area and porous structure of the water-neutral clay granulate offer several advantages over conventional gravel. Tetra Active Substrate promotes the colonisation of beneficial soil bacteria and reduces organic water pollution. The filter is relieved and ensures a crystal clear water. As the substrate prevents the formation of soil compaction and prevents, by an optimal soil structure, the fouling of roots. The rooting of plants is favoured and ensures a firm grip, as even fine roots can anchor in the clay pores. The plant roots are optimally supplied with nutrients - the even water circulation makes this possible, which means that up to 50% more nutrients can be absorbed in contrast to conventional aquarium gravels.

Application: Thorough washing to remove transport-related abrasion and to avoid turbidity. Fill the aquarium with a 4 cm high layer of Tetra ActiveSubstrate. For optimal plant growth, we recommend a 2-4 cm high layer of the ground concentrate Tetra CompleteSubstrate as a basis.
