Sera Phosvec Granules are a filter medium that is used to remove phosphate and thus prevent algae in freshwater and seawater aquariums.

Phosphate is a plant nutrient that helps plants grow splendidly. However, too much phosphate favours the formation of algae. Phosphates are enriched by feed, but also by the excretions of the fish in the aquarium water. A lavishly planted aquarium can take up the majority, but in a rather little planted aquarium a high phosphate content can lead to undesirable algae formation. With the Sera Phosvec Granulates, phosphate deposits are removed easily and safely with a permanent effect. Depending on the size of the aquarium and water pollution, the granulate remains active for up to 3 months and is suitable for both fresh and saltwater.
