Seachem Flourite Dark, 7 kg

Flourite® Dark is a special gravel made of porous clay pieces that is ideal for use in naturally planted freshwater aquariums. You can mix this clay gravel with other gravel but it is most effective when used as a single substrate.

Flourite® Dark is neither chemically coated nor treated and therefore has not effect on the pH value of the water. The clay gravel can last for the life of the aquarium and does not need to be replaced.

Tip: You don’t need a gravel modifier (e.g. laterite)

Recommended use:

Flourite® Dark is pre-washed. However, as dust can accumulate due to abrasion caused during transport, please rinse it before use.

After placing the clay gravel in the aquarium, take care while introducing water to the aquarium and do it slowly so as not to stir up the Flourite® Dark substrate. Seachem recommends placing a bowl of water in the aquarium, filling the bowl with water and then letting it overflow into the aquarium to fill it up. There is no need for concern if you notice a slight cloudiness which can be easily fixed by using mechanical filtration such as with a filter pad. To further speed up the clarification process, you can use Seachem Clarity™.
