The various types of catfish differ widely in their diets. Some feed mainly on algae and plants while others prefer wood. Species such as zebra catfish or cactus catfish prefer eating microorganisms, insects and dead fish.

Pleco Wafer XL are large food tablets that are designed to meet the needs of herbivorous and algae-eating suckermouth catfish of size 15-40 cm. Due to the wood content, the food is also suitable for wood-eating catfish. The tasty and high-quality ingredients such as spinach, salmon, spirulina and shrimp make it very palatable even for picky catfish species.

This fish food is free from artificial additives.

Recommended use:

The food sinks to the bottom where it is ingested by the suckermouth catfish. As catfish are mainly active at dusk and night, switch off the lights in your aquarium before feeding them. Otherwise, they won't seek out the food and will remain hungry, as the tablets dissolve after a while or get eaten by other fish before they do.

Feeding recommendation:

Feed suckermouth catfish once or twice a day with Pronovo Pleco Wafer XL as much as they can wat in a few minutes.

Tip: If you keep herbivorous, omnivorous and carnivorous catfish in the same tank, you can feed the fish at the same time without any problems. If they arrive at the "wrong" food, they will not eat it once they smell it. However, it's not a problem at all if they do eat the food meant for another species - this simply means they eat something else for a change.
