Loaches have two distinguishing features: an under-eye spine, which they use for self-defence, and a recessed lower jaw with which they can attach themselves to the bottom and move - even against strong currents. These bottom-dwelling fish prefer to eat near the bottom of the aquarium. They eat small crustaceans and worms, as well as algae. Some species even like snails.

The Pronovo Botia Tab M are food tablets for all loaches of length 1-20 cm. The food tablets are made of high-quality ingredients such as salmon, spirulina and shrimp and contain no artificial additives.

Feeding recommendation:

Feed loaches once or twice a day as much as they eat within a few minutes.

Tip: It is common for loaches to be kept with other fish species. Feeding them can be a little more complicated. Occasionally, loaches may go hungry because surface-dwelling fish will eat the food meant for loaches before it can reach them at the bottom. Therefore, it is better to feed the fish at the surface first. While they are busy eating, you can throw one or two food tablets on the bottom for the loaches. Alternatively, you can press the food tablet(s) lightly against the glass of the aquarium to make the feeding experience a little different.
