Description
With the PRO AQUATEST Pond Check pH / KH you determine the pH value and the carbonate hardness in pond, tap and well water.
The correct water values in the pond depend on the fish stock and the plants present. Even if the water looks clear, it can be polluted. With bad values, diseases or algae can form in the pond. Regular control and adjustment of the water values are important for healthy pond water with near-natural conditions. JBL offers water tests in the form of quick tests or colour change tests for every water analysis.
These determine a certain value or several values at the same time. With these water tests, algae problems can be recognised and negative nitrate, nitrite, potassium, phosphate values etc. can be determined. Why test? Keeping a suitable pH value as constant as possible is an important prerequisite for the well-being of the pond inhabitants and the thriving of the aquatic plants. In addition, many substances dissolved in water are subject to changes due to the pH value. In particular, pH fluctuations should be avoided. The carbonate hardness (KH) shows the sum of the carbonates (HCO3) and hydrogen carbonates (HCO3) 2. These minerals can bind acids and bases and thus stabilise the pH value in the desired range. At KH values below 4 ° dKH the pH value is not stable and fluctuates extremely between 6 and 12. These strong fluctuations affect all living things in the pond!
Recommended values:
pH value in ponds: 7.5-8.5 carbonate hardness (KH): at least 4 ° dKH
Simple application:
Fill the measuring tubes with pond water, add 5 drops of reagent each, swirl gently until the colour is uniform, wait one minute, compare the colour with the colour card.
Included in the set:
- Rapid test
