Description
The JBL Manado DARK is a dark natural substrate for freshwater aquariums and due to its porous structure, it is the perfect plant care product.
The JBL Manado DARK is available in different units and emphasizes the splendour of the lightly coloured fish with its dark brown colour and gives a harmonious overall picture with the red and green tones of the well-kept plants.
This natural ground for freshwater aquariums is ideal for plant care due to its porous structure and nutrient storage function. It enables vital plant growth and prevents algae. Useful and effective cleaning bacteria colonise the soil and ensure optimal root growth of the plants through the natural pore structure. The filter is thus relieved and ensures crystal clear water. JBL Manado is excellent for the care of fish and invertebrates, as no unwanted pollutants are released into the water. The rounded granule grains protect the sensitive barbels of bottom-dwelling fish, such as Corydoras and others. The natural substrate activates the soil flora and is optimal for plant care. The nutrient buffer with a battery-like effect (releases nutrients until it is exhausted and can be recharged by re-fertilisation) is water neutral and rounded. This makes it ideal for burrowing fish such as catfish and loaches.
JBL Manado is a natural product and may contain varying amounts of iron, which may initially lead to slightly increased iron content and increased hardness values. This normalises over the course of several water changes. In soft water, harmless iron efflorescence can occur. Before use, it is recommended to thoroughly rinse JBL Manado with warm tap water to remove any transport-related abrasion. When filling with water, care should be taken not to stir up the floor. Due to the porous structure, individual grains can float. These can be easily removed with a safety net.
Tip
We recommend that you consider the possibility of a heating cable before installing the substrate because subsequent installation requires the complete aquarium to be cleared out.
