Description

The JBL Artemio 2 collection cup is a spare part for the JBL ArtemioSet. In combination with the precise JBL sieve attachment (separately available as JBL Artemio3), it can be placed under the incubator and the artemias can be screened directly and fed to the fish.

For many young animals, Artemia nauplii are just small enough to be eaten. Freshly hatched Artemia nauplii are indispensable live food for successful and low-loss fish farming. With Artemia eggs, such as JBL ArtemioPur (sold separately), these nauplii can be easily incubated as needed. The animal protein helps them to optimal growth and an intact immune system. But picky fish, as well as those from wild-catching areas can only feed under certain circumstances - live food is the best choice here. Very small juvenile fish must first be fed with protozoa (paramecium) or JBL NobilFluid until they are large enough to handle Artemia nauplii.

JBL ArtemioPur is placed in a 2-3% breeding solution prepared with a special salt such as JBL ArtemioSal (sold separately) and aerated well. The Artemia nauplii then hatch after 24-48 hours and can be fed or raised in a rearing tank.

In the specially constructed funnel-shaped incubator of the JBL ArtemioSet, Artemia nauplii are efficiently incubated with vigorous aeration. The funnel shape of the incubator ensures that no eggs can settle in dead corners and an optimal hatching result is achieved. The construction of the funnel as an incubator with integrated drain valve in a specially made stand makes the removal of hatched Artemia nauplii easy and convenient. The shape of the incubator as a funnel together with the powerful ventilation (ventilator pump sold separately or in the JBL ArtemioSet +) allows a maximum hatching rate of the nauplii and thus the most effective feeding of the juvenile fish.

The assembled incubator can, if desired, be attached to a further stand device by bayonet. The air line can be routed from one incubator to the next. This convenient air expansion device provides a time-delayed setting of multiple incubators to ensure a seamless and efficient supply of sensitive juvenile fish.

Application:
JBL ArtemioPur Artemia eggs are incubated in a 2-3% saline solution. This is best done with JBL ArtemioSal (sold separately). This special salt contains microalgae as an initial food and a buffer system to maintain the optimal pH. The best way to hatch in the JBL ArtemioSet. This complete set contains a specially designed breeding vessel and a diffuser pump, all the necessary parts for comfortable and efficient hatching. Fill the jar with 0.5 litres of water and add 10-15g (2 scoops) of JBL ArtemioSal and, as needed, 1-3 scoops of JBL ArtemioPur Artemia eggs.

With strong aeration and a temperature of 25 ° C, the nauplii hatch in about 24 hours. At low temperature correspondingly slower. The aeration is absolutely necessary and ensures an optimal hatching result and the required oxygen supply. After hatching, shut off the ventilation. The nauplii now collect within a few minutes on the floor at the bottom of the vessel and the empty egg shells on the water surface. Depending on the intended use, you can now sieve the nauplii with the JBL Artemio3 sieve insert on the JBL Artemio2 collection cup and feed it to your fish or grow it separately.

Our expert Oliver Knott recommends:
The practical collection container allows efficient and direct screening when removing the live food.
