Exo Terra Equatorial Forest Floor, 8.8L

Exo Terra Equatorial Forest Floor is a multi-layer substrate for recreating an equatorial forest floor in terrariums. The tropical climate of equatorial regions is characterised by frequent rainfall and animals living there are used to high humidity.

The substrate consists of top and bottom layers. The top layer of Ardisie leaves serves as a soft, decorative biodegradable layer that allows animals to burrow and hide. The top layer acts as a true ecosystem where beneficial bacteria break down waste products and absorb odours.

The bottom layer is 100% organic consisting mainly of ground coconut husk fibres and coco peat. It is eco-friendly and biodegradable. It has excellent hygroscopic properties which is necessary for maintaining the humidity in the terrarium. The substrate is also suitable for planted terrariums. The grain size which ranges from coarse granules to fine lumps ensures good drainage and optimal aeration.

The equatorial forest substrate is heat treated and does not cause bacterial contamination in the terrarium. The substrate is completely free of added chemicals, completely biodegrrdable and can be disposed of in your household compost without any problems.

Instructions for use:

Spread a 5-10 cm layer of the substrate. Moisten it if necessary. Replace the substrate when it gets soiled.
