Description

Live crickets are a popular treat for terrarium animals. Exo Terra's Cricket Pen is made of plastic and is ideal for housing, keeping and dispensing live crickets. Crickets like dark spaces and will readily retreat into the long, black tubes on both sides of the container. The tubes are not connected to the lid of the container so that the lid can be removed without letting the crickets escape. The black tubes can be taken out from the outside of the container and used as a cricket dispenser in terrariums. It container also includes bowls for food and water. The cover is well ventilated and ensures a constant supply of fresh air.

Cricket Care in Exo Terra's Cricket Pen:

Humidity and direct sun are not good for crickets. They prefer well-ventilated spaces and temperatures between 21 to 24 °C. Make sure the container is always dry and clean for the crickets to feel comfortable. The food and water (in gel form) should be served in the included bowls. Never provide water in liquid form as crickets can easily drown. If you don't have water gel, you can use a moistened sponge instead.

Feeding with the dispenser tubes:

Remove one of the dispenser tubes from the outside of the cricket container. The dispenser hole closes automatically after the dispenser tube is taken out. Cover the open end of the tube with your hand to keep the crickets from escaping. At the feeding spot, remove your hand and tap the dispenser lightly to make the crickets fall out of the tube.

Cleaning:

Clean the container regularly with hot water. Do not use detergents or soap as these can be harmful to the crickets' health or even fatal.
