The Eheim FIX is a pre-filter material and fine filtering, as a separating layer between mechanical and biological filter media.

This specially structured filter material is used after a layer of EHEIM MECH or MECHpro. EHEIM FIX serves as a separating layer between mechanical and biological filter media. Here, coarser particles are retained and thus removed from the water before it enters the biological filter layers.
We also offer blue EHEIM filter mats for the same purpose to match your EHEIM external filter.

Mechanical filter media hold back suspended matter and dirt particles, this happens in different stages. At the beginning, before the water runs through the further cleaning process, the prefilter media EHEIM MECH and EHEIM MECHpro are particularly effective. EHEIM FIX is suitable as a separating layer between mechanical and biological filter media. And the filter floss EHEIM SYNTH is ideal for fine filtering at the end, before the water re-enters the aquarium.
