Calanus is the food base of the huge schools of herring in the North Atlantic and the most important part of their food chain. Natural carotenoids, especially astaxanthin, provide a full range of colours. Fish love the taste, even delicate feeders and wild catches can get used to dry food with this food, Calanus FD Organic is an additional food suitable for all types of aquarium fish. It is produced by freeze-drying that is gentle on nutrients and aromas and thus offers a number of advantages over commercially available frozen food.

You feed this food along the lines of Mother Nature: most aquarium fish feed in the wild to a large extent on zooplankton in the form of small crustaceans.
