Description
Its rapid growth rate makes Hygrophila polysperma ideal for the initial planting in an aquarium. It grows up to 50 cm tall and is suitable for the background. It is fairly undemanding, robust and easy to care for, making it also perfect for beginners. It responds well to occasional pruning with dense branching, while sufficient light ensures a reddish brown hue in the shoots. The beautiful stem plant absorbs excess nutrients quickly and is therefore a serious competitor for algae.
