Description
The Australian tongue leaf Glossostigma elatinoides is a very small aquarium plant with creeping sprouts and small leaves. The tongue leaf is native to Australia, Tasmania and New Zealand and occurs on rivers and lakes. Takashi Amano became aware of the then relatively unknown plant in 1980. Glossostigma elatinoides is now one of the most popular foreground plants worldwide.
With enough light and CO2, this plant is relatively easy to keep. The light intensity should be at least 0.5 watts per litre. When there is sufficient lighting, the Australian tongue quickly forms runners and covers the entire substrate.
When planting, you should put some groups of these plants together.
