Animalbook The Latest Apistogramma

AQUALOG South American Cichlids II contained all Apistogramma species known at the time of its publication (1996). Numerous new species have been discovered since then. We have started to catch up with this AQUALOG Extra. It contains mainly photographs of species and varieties that have not been included in the large AQUALOG South American Cichlids II so far. If the newcomers are fish that are very similar to species that have been known for some time, these have also been illustrated for comparison. Likewise, all species/variants were shown again for comparison where the new import was only given a trade name numerically (i.e. Apistogramma sp. "Paraguay I", A. sp. "Paraguay II" etc.), in order to enable a reliable identification. Finally, fish that have been known for a long time and have been scientifically identified in the meantime, such as Apistogramma sp. "Sunset", which is now correctly called A. atahualpa, have been pictured here again.

All in all, this AQUALOG Extra shows in 222 fantastic colour photos why the dwarf cichlids of the genus Apistogramma are among the most popular aquarium fish.
