ADA Power Sand fulfils a special function: it gives natural aquariums with demanding aquascape layouts more stability, making them more durable. The size of the grain in connection with the volume of the aquarium is decisive: It is hydraulic forces that gradually compress the substrate and cause it to sink - Power Sand opposes this!

Which grain size is suitable for which tank?

• Grain L - depth of the basin over 60 cm
• Grit M - depth of the basin from 40 to 60 cm
• Grain S - depth of the basin up to 40 cm

The porously structured, volcanic sand is piled up under the Aqua Soil and additionally acts here as a substrate fertiliser: root systems are supplied with nutrients, useful bacteria that break down organic sediments can settle more easily. Thanks to the irregular, fissured sand surface, the so important cavities in the substrate are preserved - it remains permeable to water and roots can spread unhindered. The sand constantly releases inorganic nutrients, which plants can absorb immediately. After about 6 months, all inorganic nutrients are absorbed by the plants. The supply of inorganic substances should then be started slowly, for example with ADA Multi Bottom.

Optimal use is achieved in combination with ADA Aqua Soil Amazonia variants. Different special products for adding to the substrate - for example, ADA Bacter 100, ADA Tourmaline BC or ADA Clear Super - please always combine directly with ADA Power Sand. They support aquarium biology and create a balanced feel-good climate for plants and animals!
